Media Literacy Week 2018:

An international discussion on the ways social media is shaping culture, relationships, business and social justice hosted by Rochester Global Connections and BiQi Marketing.

  • 6:45-7:15pm Q&A
  • 7:15-8:00pm Reception & Networking *Appetizers and cash bar will be provided

Moderated by Stephanie Armstrong, Founder and President of BiQi Marketing with International Guests participating in the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP):

  1. Ms. Ndeye Gaye SISSOKO EP DIAWARA, Communications Officer, Communication and Public Relations Section of the Presidency. Ms. Sissoko Ep Diawara works to ensure presidential communication, including developing communication strategies and coordinating media activities of the President and First Lady in Mali.
  2. Mr. Hippolyte MARBOUA, Editor in Chief, Coordinator of News and Correspondents, Radio Ndeke Luka, Hirondelle Foundation/ International Correspondent, BBC Afrique. Mr. Marboua raises human rights, accountability and transparency issues via Patara, a weekly program in Central African Republic of debates that brings together different political figures to express their ideas.
  3. Ms. Yasmine DORBANE, Journalist and Community Manager, Algerie 360 Agency. Ms. Dorbane is a community manager and journalist at Algerie360, a communication agency focusing on political and cultural topics in Algeria.
  4. Mr Yassino TEJJAINI, Art Director, E‑Journalist, Webmaster and Graphic Designer, eNEWS. Mr Tejjani is an e-journalist, graphic designer and webmaster. He works as an art director for a web design company KOMCEPT.
  5. Mr. Aristide ABOUDI OTTOU, Managing Director, Integration, CEO, Web 2.0. Mr. Ottou manages a weekly regional newspaper, which addresses cooperation between the U.S. and Central Africa countries in area such as security, health, and wildlife preservation. He has done investigative reporting in governance and international agreements.
