How it all Vegan

An African Heritage Vegetarian Cooking Class

Why go vegan?

There are countless reasons for a vegan or plant-based lifestyle and one of them is to explore and celebrate the healthy food traditions of the African Diaspora.

Eat the foods our African ancestors ate on a delicious plant-based diet that is high in flavor and naturally low in cholesterol, saturated fat, sugars, and excess sodium.

The ancestors of African Americans brought many wonderful food traditions to parts of the Caribbean, South America, and the southern states of the U.S. Maybe these were your great, great, great grandparents. Over the generations, many of these food traditions have been lost, with the influences of modern, American eating habits, and the health of African Americans has suffered because of this loss.

Join Sandra Scott as she teaches, educates and empowers you to go on a journey back to your roots, with A Taste of Africa. Enjoy African dishes such as:

  • Jollof Rice

  • African Peanut Stew

  • Caribbean Coconut Red Beans

  • Millet with Cauliflower

  • Tangy Collard Greens

  • Mango and Papaya After Chop

Diabetes is not part of your heritage. Neither is heart disease.
