Event description

Description

We invite you to our March WISE SF event which will feature impact-focused venture capital funds that invest in emerging technologies dedicated to solving the world’s greatest challenges, specifically related to the environment, sustainable cities, and the energy landscape.

At this evening event, we will discuss the intersectionality of diversity and sustainability in venture capital, including the role of LPs, the role of female investors and founders driving diversity, and the kinds of technologies and solutions that these investors are looking to support. As a quick reminder, out of a pool of $130.9 billion in US venture capital investment in 2018, female-founded startups raised approximately 2.2% or around $2.3 billion in total. The investment teams at venture firms tend to reflect this gender imbalance, with women comprising just 10% of decision makers.

Join us for a thought provoking panel discussion with an impressive lineup of women in venture capital who are striving to change the status quo.

Panelists:

Thank you to Sherwood Yuen and Just Invest for generously arranging to host us at their Oakland co-working space, which is located two blocks from the 19th Street Bart Station.

We ask that you please plan on bringing $5 (cash or Venmo!) with you to Oakland to help us cover event costs.
