HOW Family Outing at Deer Creek Reservoir

We are really looking forward to our first event after a long winter. Please join us at Deer Creek Reservoir for a day of kayak fishing, floating, and fun. We will have plenty of on-shore and off-shore activities for the entire family. A complimentary lunch will be provided by our fine volunteers and sponsors. Come out and see old friends and make new ones.
As always, our events are free and open to Active Duty Military, Veterans, First Responders and their Families.

Volunteers should arrive by 7:00 be rigged and ready and setup by 8:00 AM
Participants and their family members should arrive at 8:30 AM
Please follow HOW Event signs for parking. Everything you will need to enjoy a day of kayaking and fishing will be provided to include kayaks, life jackets, fishing gear, bait, food, and drinks. Lunch will be served and snacks and drinks will be provided during the day.

Directions: We will be at the Charleston Launch at the north end of the lake.
Weather Considerations: Events are rain or shine, dress appropriately for the weather. You will be notified if the event is cancelled for any reason. You may get wet during the outing. Its always a good idea to pack extra dry clothes for the way home.
A Few Rules:
HOW events are ALCOHOL FREE.
Vets/guests are NOT allowed to go kayak fishing during the event without a HOW guide.
You MUST wear your PFD the entire time you are out in a kayak.
Food will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own snacks/food/drinks if you have special needs/preferences.
We love our non-service dogs as most of you love yours, but for the safety of all of our participants and volunteers, we ask that you refrain from bringing your non-service dogs to our event.
