Event description

Description

How does this country work? is an experimental month-long evening class for people who would like to understand UK politics and find out how they can get involved.

The idea for this course started with 100 questions, from "How does the parliament work?" to "Why did I never learn anything about politics in school?"

This course is for anybody aged 16 and over. It will be conversational and you don't have to have any prior knowledge of politics. You also don't have to be British.

We will meet every Wednesday evening in July at Rabbits Road Institute, with different guest speakers. Participants will also get a publication with lots of resources and materials.

Tickets range from £0 to £50 for the whole course (4 evenings). This is a self-initiated and mostly self-funded project and all money raised will go towards admin costs and fees.

You can either book tickets for all 4 evenings or just for one. If you've paid for one ticket and like to come to more, just book the others as free tickets. If you need childcare, email Rosalie.Schweiker@gmail.com

Any questions? Email Rosalie.Schweiker@gmail.com or tweet @schweikerosalie

How does this country work? is a collaboration between artist Rosalie Schweiker, journalist Hettie O’Brien, admin group Keep It Complex - Make It Clear, Designer Rose Nordin, Rabbits Road Institute coordinator Laura Owen, journalist Imke Henkel, political scientist Ellie Knott, occupational therapist Georgia Twigg and you.
