Event description

Description

Comics and science fiction have been used to engage American audiences to help shift cultural norms and promote social justice. Star Trek, for instance, featured a multicultural cast and played a pivotal role in the Civil Rights movement. As we enter a new age, how can we use comics, science fiction, and fantasy to help reimagine a future for reproductive justice?

This very special Let’s Talk About Sex Pre- Conference Institute will spend a full day exploring Science, Science Fiction, Comics, and Fantasy with a reproductive justice theme. Bookmark this website, as will be updating it with information about panelist, workshops and special guest.

Workshops and Panel include:

Genome editing and Scientific Racism

Speculative Fiction and Afrofuturism

Institutional Villians in Comics and Sci-fi

Futurism – The next Horizon for Reproductive Justice

Violence against Women: Virtue & Vice in comics
