Event description

Description

Think things are bad in Washington? Well, come listen to the Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston at our Silurian lunch on Feb. 21 and you’ll find out that “It's Even Worse Than You Think: What the Trump Administration Is Doing to America”.

That's the title of his latest book (also available there for purchase and signing!). You might even find out a thing or three about the new Republican-led tax bill. And yes, that too is even worse than you think.

David, an expert on Trump and taxes, is an investigative journalist and the winner of a 2001 Pulitzer Prize for uncovering loopholes and inequities in the U.S. tax code. At the time, he was with The New York Times. He has also written for The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Los Angeles Times and Reuters. And so far, he has now written six books.

Few journalists know Trump better than David, who has been following him since 1988. His new book goes inside the administration to show how the federal agencies that touch the lives of all Americans are being undermined. In 2016, Johnston founded DC Report, an online journal covering the president's administration and congress.

So, with that said, please reserve early to listen to David. It will be a packed house.

The date: Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018

The time: Noon

The place: National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South
