THE 2ND ANNUAL HOUSTON RISING STARS AWARDS 2018

Honoring black media professionals dominating and making strides in their field for a night of excellence.

December 28, 2017- Houston, TX - Salute the legacy of the talented African-Americans who captivate audiences through our TV screens, radio stations and media outlets with the independent entertainment leader, Ms Cat TV, at the 2018 Houston Rising Star Awards. Join the ceremony on February 24th at Houston Community College (West Loop campus), as we pay homage to the city’s professionals who are paving the way for the future.

The theme for the evening is A Black History Initiative, in celebration of Black History month and the community’s contributions to Houston’s culture and media landscape.

The night’s "Rising Star" award recipients include:

Michael Sterling - Independent Film Director, writer & actor

Rudy Rush - Actor, Writer, and Comedian and TV & radio personality on 93.7 The Beat

Jonathan Milton - Writer and Director

Chauncy Glover - Three-time Emmy Award winning journalist on ABC 13

Amir Diamond - Actor and Media Personality on 92.1 Radio Now

Michele and Rochele Thompkins - The Gossiping Heifers podcast and personalities on Amazing 102.5

Each honorees’ success and commitment to their craft continues to open doors in the entertainment industry for our stories to be heard. Ms. Cat, creator of the Rising Star Awards, believes, “Houston has so much unnoticed talent; and majority of the time, the most talented people are never seen on the camera. This is your time to be seen and noticed. We salute you.”
