When & Where
Passing Through Productions
"Roots, rock and a respite from the road."
Bakersfield, California is home of the Bakersfield Sound. Its legends are Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. Its musical heritage dates back to the sounds of the Dustbowl migration and Depression-era country. Hardscrabble players have come and gone, and for years some of the world’s best musical talent has simply passed through town.
Passing Through Productions (“Passing Through”) is an independent concert promotions collective founded by good friends with a passion for great music. Passing Through’s purpose is to attract the finest up-and-coming musical talent to Bakersfield, California to perform stripped-down, no frills concerts as a gift to our community. Roots-rocking singer-songwriters, duos and bands traveling between Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas are treated to a respite from the road as they are passing through en route to their next show. In exchange, they perform for the most appreciative audience in the country. As our guests, booked acts eat, sleep and drink well, make a little extra traveling money, meet new friends and leave with a promise that they will be passing through again.
