Description

4th Annual Houston Black Film Festival. Hosted by R&B legend, Angie Stone, (The Fighting Temptations actress) VH1's R&B Divas and Executive Producer of Beneath My Skin. A host of entertainment industry workshops that will teach or enhance your filmmaking, acting, directing career by providing you with the tools and networking opportunities that will elevate your industry goals and increase your opportunities. The festival also has a segment for authors to pitch their novels to producers for consideration of a film adaptation of their books. Script to Screen workshop held by Filmmaker Mark Harris. Harris will discuss how he implemented his concept, depicted complex characters and other dynamics, and structure, that landed his work on TVOne, BET, Netfilix, in theatres as an Theatrical release as an Indie Filmmaker. He will also discuss the elements of screenwriting. You’ll learn to create a “trigger” incident for your story, that leads your main character into a powerful dilemma. Director Christopher Nolen II (BET, TVOne) will also be on hand for a Directors workshop. Calming the Casting Chaos panel will also host other well-know industry experts. Producers Panel will include Dawn Carter, Donlyn Productions formerly of Fox Pictures, (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and others.)
