These informational sessions are for new and ongoing owners renting to Section 8 Housing Choice voucher holders in Santa Clara County.

About this event

These workshops will provide an overview of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program and provide information about renting to Section 8 participants. Some topics that will be covered are:

• Owner benefits for renting to HCV participants

• Owner incentive programs

• How to list your unit on the Section 8 rental database

• Accessing resources on the Owner Portal

• Setting up direct deposit to receive rent payments faster and more easily

• Using e-signature to expedite the new contract process

• Tips for completing the Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA) packet

These sessions will be conducted remotely via Zoom.

Organizer of Housing Choice Voucher Owner Information Session- 2021

Our agency assists about 17,000 households through the federal rental housing assistance (Housing Choice Voucher, also known as Section 8) program. We also develop, control and manage affordable rental housing properties. The majority of our program funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our programs and properties are targeted to assist low, very low, and extremely low-income households. The vast majority-more than 80%-of our client households are extremely low-income families, seniors, veterans, persons with disabilities, and formerly homeless. Working together with landlords, housing developers, charities and local governments, we strive to provide housing and support services to as many eligible families as possible.
