Description

Housing as a Social Determinant of Health - July 2019 Quarterly Partnership Meeting + Free Training

Come learn with us about the answers and approaches to the following questions: How does having a home vs. being homeless / in constant transition affect one’s health? Are there long term health affects from going through this? What is the importance of a community having affordable housing options for lower income families? Do any disparities exist in accessing housing in regards to race/ethnicity, etc? What types of environmental issues in one’s home can affect one’s health, and how do they affect (such as water quality, bed bugs / pests, etc)? How does having a healthy home benefit one’s health outcomes? What can we as professionals (from varying backgrounds, including local government) do to advocate for equitable housing and healthy housing for the most vulnerable in our population?
