The Houser-Metzger Educational Series: Windows
Historic Homes were built by hand and meant to last forever. Their features did not have “lifespans” and they could always be repaired. Sadly, we have forgotten how to inexpensively repair and refinish our own homes. Join us to learn how to repair and refinish your home while saving money and a precious material from the landfill.
Taught by Larry Johnson of Fresh Air Window Works and Terry Philips of TK Enterprises, this will be an intense, hands-on opportunity. The class will teach sash removal, paint and glass removal, wood repair, glazing techniques, weather stripping, and sash installation with new sash cords.
Participants must wear closed toe shoes and bring a lead safe respirator with lead (pink/purple) filters. Lunch is on your own. Downtown is two blocks away.
