---Our company is dedicated to giving back to the Chicago community, and now you can get involved too!---
Here's how it works:
- You will now have the opportunity to donate when RSVP'ing, or at the door. When you do, you will be automatically entered to win one of the night's awesome prizes.
- Access Chicago Realty will match all donations for each show up to our monthly budget.
- You get to give back to an amazing cause, while still enjoying all the free comedy, drinks, and food House of Laughs has to offer!
Inspiration Kitchens is a non-profit restaurant and a catering kitchen with a mission. It helps homeless and low-income Chicagoans improve their lives and increase self-sufficiency by providing temporary housing, teaching them basic career skills, training them to work in food services, and ultimately helping them secure employment. And it all started right here in chicago in 1989.
If you've never been to their restaurant in East Garfield park, you have to try it. We are not talking burgers and fries - we're talking real gourmet food, cooked by graduates of their own program.
We are also ecstatic to announce that Lagunitas Brewery will be keeping us hydrated at every House of Laughs show beginning in December! Lagunitas has it's home right here in Chicago, and makes some of the tastiest beers around. If you drink beer, and you live in Chicago, you know just how excited we are to have Lagunitas on board!
Also, the first people to show up and donate at the door, or have previously donated and check-in will get a special seasonal cocktail from Rhine Hall Distillery!
December's super special show feature some amazing comics. Headliner Calvin Evans will be appearing on the Access stage for the second time. This Chicago born and bred comedian has come a long way from his Eddie Murphy impersonations in his elementary school lunchroom. Calvin is a rising talent in the Chicago comedy scene, and beyond. Since becoming the first winner of WGN Chicago’s Next Big Comic Contest in 2010, Evans went on to become a staple in the Chicago TBS Just For Laugh Festival since 2011, and he’s been steadily touring colleges and comedy clubs across the nation.
Evans will be joined by Jeanie Doogan, whose humor ranges from sweet and nostalgic to edgy and adult-themed. She has entertained audiences at colleges, casinos, and corporate events, in addition to legendary venues throughout the US. She was recently featured in “Chicago Parents’ Magazine’s Four of Chicago’s Funniest: Stand Up Parents”, as well as featured on Nick Jr.’s Moms’ Night Out stand up special.
A special guest set will be put on by Conor Cawley, and the night's show will be hosted by the hilarious Jonah Jurkens.
