CONCEPT

European tourism is strong thanks to it’s exchange. For this reason HTF has chosen to do it’s next edition under the hotelcamp format in one of Europe’s preferred travel destinations. Come to Iceland to discuss hotel and tourism topics with Icelandic hoteliers. Their insight and experience will widen our discussions and enrich our conversations. Together with the Icelandic hotel association we organize this barcamp to enable a truely international exchange and collaboration.

HotelCamp is a new and dynamic way of making hotel conferences. Without a previously planned agenda, democratically chosen discussion topics, open discussion workshops and no product presentations.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

HotelCamp Iceland offers the opportunity to explore new themes and ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. The main focus of this HotelCamp will be the new trends in the hospitality industry. Issues related to new technologies, innovation, social networks, direct booking techniques, but also the perceptions of experts can be the theme of the event.

The sessions and their speakers are decided on the day by the audience and coordinated by the organizers of HotelCamp Iceland through a session plan.


EVENT TOPICS

In a HotelCamp, you have the chance to propose any topic that you would like to discuss. That topic will then be put to vote by the rest of the participants. The proposals with the most votes will get a session dedicated to their topic..

Some proposal examples:

  • What does a hotel need for a powerful online distribution strategy?

  • What are the risks of breaking rate parity?

  • How can a hotel be less dependent from its OTAs?

  • How do I know if my hotel website is up to date?

  • What tools do I need to optimise conversion on my website?


PROGRAM

The sessions can be presentations, discussions or workshops and the owner of the session becomes your mediator.
