Description


Yoga for athletes is a two hour workshop designed for high performance athletes looking to enhance their flexibility, endurance, power, speed and balance through an increased and efficient range of motion.

The workshop will be run in 30 degree heat allowing for deeper stretching and detoxification.

Standing, seated and balancing yoga postures will help elongate contracted muscles and loosen tight hips, shoulders, hamstrings and calves.

Opening postures will increase respiratory capacity, enhancing blood circulation and improving performance and endurance.

Optimal alignment will reduce power leakage, improve running gait and efficiency.

Improved body mechanics will overall reduce the risk of injury both in training and in competition and allow more consistent progress in sport.

Enhanced circulation and lymphatic flow will increase strength and endurance allowing for better recovery, allowing muscles to process waste quickly, speeding up muscle re-growth and healing time.

The long term benefit of a consistent practice will improve immune function, sharpen concentration and focus and aid sport stress management.

The workshop will be run at the Eton Excelsior Rowing Club opposite the Windsor Marina, at the top floor studio overlooking the River Thames.

Blocks, straps and yoga mats will also be provided.
