Description

The San Diego Natural History Museum (theNAT) is calling on San Diegans to help photograph as much wildlife as possible from April 26th-28th. Become a volunteer citizen scientist and help document the biodiversity of the Cleveland National Forest in Horsethief Canyon to support the 2019 City Nature Challenge!

Join Hike San Diego (https://www.hikesandiego.org/) on Challenge Day 1 as we hike and explore Horsethief Canyon near Alpine, CA and document native plants and wildlife using the free iNaturalist smartphone app. Horsethief is literally buzzing with life, as flowers are blooming, pollinators are fluttering, and water is trickling down through the canyon. Additional information will be emailed to those who sign up.


Hiking Length: 3.6-mile loop.
When: Friday, April 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Difficulty: Moderate. Elevation gain/loss up to 613 feet.
