Event description

Description

Has your kiddo been doing lessons at Sande but wants to take a bigger role in the barn community? At Horsemanship Helpers, kids will complete a youth volunteer training program with instruction and practice in horse and ranch manangement. Kids will take a 75-minute riding lesson in addition to classes in executing pasture switches, bathing horses, clipping and performing basic horse first aid. In each camp, kids will assist with the daily care required of the 30 horses at the barn. At the close of this camp, certificates of completion will be awarded to kids based on achieving defined camp goals. Those who meet the age and skill requirement will be cleared to begin volunteering at set days / times throughout the summer!

Horsemanship Helpers Volunteer Training Camp runs from Monday, June 18th, through Thursday, June 21st, from 9am to 3pm each day. These classes are designed for kids ages 8 to 14 years old. Please let us know if your camper is on the cusp of the age-range and we will talk with you about which camp might be the best fit! Campers should bring a snack and water bottle to each day of camp. Half of tuition is due upon completion of registration to hold your place and you will be billed via email. The other half of tuition is due on the first day of camp.
