Join us for a holiday excursion to Horning's Hideout located northwest of Portland!
Just a short 14-mile ride brings you to a lovely little wooded spot with disc golf (3-18 hole courses are FREE with camp fees, discs can be rented), fishing (rods/tackle available for rent), forests for exploring, paddle boats, and peacocks! At only $6/person/night payable the day-of, it's a deal for a relaxing nearby holiday getaway.
We have a group site reserved, so we’re ready for lots of bike campers to join us! The Cycle Wild-led ride will leave the morning of Friday, June 3rd from the MAX Station in Hillsboro, ride 14 miles at an easy pace, stay two nights at Horning's, and depart Sunday around noon. Other campers are welcome to join us only Friday or Saturday night, or to ride all the way from Portland (around 28 miles--we can help with a route). Regardless of how or when you get there, you must be a Cycle Wild member and you must register on Eventbrite to camp with us.
Kids and dogs are welcome! Fireworks are not--they're forbidden on the property. Because of the very dry weather we've had this spring, it's already fire season and campfires aren't allowed--so bring your stove for cooking and a lantern for evening hang-out time.
We'll also be sharing the property with 3 weddings during the weekend--bring earplugs if an early bedtime is important--so there's a chance we can have a late-night dance party with borrowed beats.
This is sure to be a fun, relaxed Independence Day weekend for those that want to get away from the city.
