This is the Philippine Folk Arts Society Inc.'s 9th annual rondalla string ensemble concert in support of the Pakiglambigit 2021, University of the Philippines College of Social Work & Community Development's Public Service, Extension and Covid Outreach Program.

About PFASI

The Philippine Folk Arts Society, Inc. (PFASI) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote awareness and preservation of the Filipino heritage, and contribute to enriching ethnic diversity by showcasing Philippine folk music, traditional dances, language, arts, and cultural celebrations.

About the Rondalla

A rondalla is an ensemble of stringed instruments played with a plectrum or pick. It originated in Spain and was later introduced in the Philippines during the 19th century. The word rondalla is from the Spanish word ronda, meaning "seranade." The core instruments of a Philippine rondalla are the banduria, laud, octavina, guitar,and bass guitar or double bass.
