What do you, a traveling troubadour, a local inspiring pop rock band, and a powerful spoken word poets have in common? You'll all be celebrating a little hope in the climate crisis on June 22nd.

Hope + Harmony: Rhymes of Resilience is about celebrating what we have together in these trying times and remembering have some joy along the way!

Join us on Thursday, June 22 2023 at 6:30 PM at Dry Spokes Craft Mocktail Bar & Venue to celebrate our planet, the progress we've made, and the challenges we are still facing together.

This in-person event features two talented live musical acts and two spoken word poets along with interactive led a-capella singing and dancing (only if you want to).

Come and be part of a community that is committed to making a positive impact on the world without giving up hope.

Performances by:

Sand is a pop and soft rock band based in Omaha, NE. Formed in 2021, the band brings a unique blend of rock, jazz, and psychedelia to their music. Sand has gained a reputation for their inspiring live performance and catchy original songs that are thought-provoking and relatable. They have played regional festivals and top-tier venues including nearly selling our Slowdown's front room last month. Sand just released a second EP entitled "Don't Let It Bite" available on all major streaming services.

Average Joey is a traveling folk musician, street savvy songwriter, radical poet and zinester. His songs bounce around stylistically between cheeky country tunes, lyrical punky banjo songs, and explicitly anti-capitalist folky storytelling. Joey’s poetry ranges from the vulnerable personal narrative to politically poignant critiques of unjust systems of power. His live show mixes song, poetry, a-capella group singing, and storytelling – all sprinkled with doomsday humor as well as urgent invitations to build a better world together.

joe fromLongIsland is a fiercely queer interdisciplinary artist with a focus on poetry. A true outsider artist, joe uses a DIY, scratchy, chaotic, and subversive approach to make art.
