ABOUT HOPE GROWS
Hope Grows is our annual fundraising dinner and celebration of the joy, hope, and healing found by so many at The Refuge Center for Counseling. This event is the single most important fundraiser that provides us with the support needed to advance our mission of providing affordable, professional counseling services in order to empower, educate, and support individuals, couples, and families in need. We will also present the Hope Award to a member of the community who embodies our mission and values to empower, educate and support those in need.

The event will take place on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at The Factory at Franklin in Jamison Hall featuring dinner, award ceremony, live painting silent auction by Roy Laws Art. Our musical guest is Provident/Sony Recording Artist Jamie Kimmett.

About Jamie Kimmett

Jamie Kimmett was born and raised on the west coast of Scotland, in the working class town of Kilmarnock. As a teenager, Jamie was scouted by the professional soccer team Celtic FC and was part of the Scottish national youth squad until age 16; when his father gave him a guitar and music became his passion. Once Jamie graduated from music school, record labels started to take notice of his unique, soulful voice and flew him to Los Angeles to meet with them. While in LA, Jamie accepted an invitation from a friend to attend church, something he had rarely done while growing up. In that church, Jamie’s eyes were opened to the Gospel and he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. Jamie now resides in Nashville, TN, signed to Provident Label Group (Sony Music) alongside artists such as Casting Crowns, Third Day, Matt Maher, Tenth Avenue North and more. Jamie’s talents of singing, songwriting and preaching come together with one mission in mind, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all audiences. Jamie is fresh off tour with Grammy Award winning artist Zach Williams (Chain Breaker Spring Revival Tour), where nightly Jamie received an overwhelming response, including standing ovations, to his music and message. He is now aiming for his debut album release in early 2019.

ABOUT THE REFUGE CENTER FOR COUNSELING

The Refuge Center opened in December 2005 as its founders Amy Alexander and Jennifer Gillett had a strong desire and vision to serve their area of residence—Williamson County—which is recognized as the seventh wealthiest county in the country. Oftentimes, this wealth overshadows those who are in need in this area. To live among great prosperity and to be in need is often to feel invisible. Through counseling, many are able to receive help before a family dispute turns violent, before a teen feels there is no hope for their life, before a couple gives up on their marriage, or before someone turns to drugs to escape their pain. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to seek therapeutic resources regardless of their ability to pay.
