Hope at 5: The power of engaging young people in volunteerism, social actio...
The first in this year-long series will take place on November 15 at 5:00 p.m. at The Non-profit Hub and focus on the power of engaging young people in volunteerism, social action and philanthropy. When young people engage in the life of the community they expand their critical reasoning, build self-worth and leadership skills, develop emotional and social intelligence and experience the value of belonging. They also bring fresh energy, unique talents and new ideas society’s most pressing issues and concerns.
Hope at 5:00 is a series of lively conversations for community leaders, parents, educators, youth advocates and students who are invested in helping Lincoln’s young people prosper and contribute where they live, learn, work and play.
Beginning with a panel of local subject experts and students, attendees will have the opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and network with others who believe the students of today are Lincoln’s community builders of tomorrow.
Please come and lend your perspective on how to encourage and involve young people in the Lincoln life.
Hope at 5:00 is presented by the scholars and staff of the Hope College Center, a program of Boys Hope Girls Hope. Hope College Center focuses on helping academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential by providing foundations for scholastic success, opportunities to explore their interests, and support to enter into and graduate from college.
