Event Details

What

Students master the basics of computational thinking,  while making a gentle transition from block-based coding (such as Scratch) to text-based coding in Python. Flexible, project-oriented curriculum emphasizes fundamental concepts through a series of engaging activities. Student-driven projects range from turtle art to blinkytapes to robotics to conversational programs such as a text-based adventure game. Progress is largely self-paced, so returning students are able to tackle more advanced topics.

When

Wednesdays, 1:35 PM - 3:05 PM, Sep 6 through Dec 6, 2017

No class on November 22. (Total of 13 Sessions)

Who

Students enrolled at Hoover Elementary in Grades 4-5

Third graders with prior coding experience may be admitted with instructor's permission, if space permits, but students in higher grades will be given priority.
