Event description

Description

Deep in the mangroves of Asia is a cat that loves water, and gets most of his meals from fishing! The long-term survival of The Fishing Cat depends upon the people who live in the surrounding areas. Oakland Zoo's Impact Speaker Series welcomes Ashwin Naidu, co-founder, and director of the Fishing Cat Conservancy, for an exploration of how his organization protects cats through empowering coastal communities and restoring mangroves.

Ashwin is a 2019 TED Fellow and a TED Speaker — he will share some award-winning images from the team members of Fishing Cat Conservancy
