Description
The Hoody Hoo Throwdown, powered by Sena, is a moto-scavenger-hunt where participants track their ride using the free smartphone app REVER. Planning their own route and riding to as many waypoints as possible, with each stop being worth a predetermined number of points. The rider with the most points wins $500 cash from Sena pluse Sena bluetooth system, with a portion of proceeds going to the Veterans Charity Ride.
For the Hollister event we will meet up at both the CycleGear in San Jose, CA and the 47 Camp Ride in Tres Pinos, just south of Hollister proper. We launch at 2p.m. on July 6th, with dozens of waypoints scattered throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains, central valley, and California coast. Riders will zig zag through forests, mountains, farmlands, and eventually make their way to the famed Hollister Rally Revival. Scoring ends at 6pm and besides prizes for the top three finishers, awards will be given to the best Instagram post (using hashtag #hhthrowdown), leader at the halfway point, and furthest distance ridden to attend the event.
The awards and afterparty will be at the Bolado campgrounds south of Hollister, where the 47 Camp Ride is happening. This gives riders access to live music, food, drinks, and a silent auction with 100% of proceeds going to the Veterans Charity Ride.
Be sure to visit our website to see the FAQ and to sign up for our blog, which will give further details as the event gets closer. Check out the 47 Camp Ride's webpage for their entire four-day schedule, and see the Hollister Revival Rally's website for details of the many activities happening in and arounf one of the worlds oldest motorcycle rallies. For riders already planning to attend the rally this is a great way to avoid the highway, make a game out of your ride down, get a shot a some cool prizes, and help wounded and amputee veterans. We're really not seeing a downside to this. Register today!
