About this event
As part of the White House’s Joining Forces initiative, the Office of the First Lady Jill Biden, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) invite you and your family to attend a special event celebrating military and veteran families on Saturday, October 8 at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle.
The event is free to military and veteran families - and will offer a special moment for us to recognize kids and youth, or “hidden helpers,” who are helping their moms and dads care for their families at home as our veterans recover from war. Free admission is provided courtesy of the Pacific Science Center.
Children and youth in attendance will have exclusive access to explore all the wonders of the Pacific Science Center with their parent(s) or guardian(s), connect with other military families, and create special memories with their community and loved ones.

This event is powered by Hidden Helpers, an initiative launched by the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), in conjunction with Joining Forces, designed to create supportive programming for the children of America’s 5.5 million military and veteran caregivers. With support from a Coalition of 75+ organizations, Hidden Helpers pledges to take action to fill gaps in support and services for military caregiver kids and youth.
About the Pacific Science Center:
Born in the spirit of innovation at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle, the Pacific Science Center has ignited curiosity for more than 60 years. Since its founding as the nation’s first science and technology center, PacSci has worked to expand access to science, serve as a vital resource for educators, and fuel discovery and experimentation as a vibrant community laboratory. PacSci is an independent, not-for-profit institution that serves nearly 1 million people in the Pacific Northwest and beyond each year. Look for its iconic arches at the foot of the Space Needle in the Seattle Center—and for innovative PacSci programming and digital resources at schools, libraries, community centers throughout Washington and beyond.
