Event description

Description

Come get your hands and boots dirty! We'll gather for an epic day of harvesting grain by hand with live music to accompany our work. It's great fun, requires no previous experience, and is appropriate for all ages. After the harvest, we will serve an outstanding on-farm lunch to celebrate our success. This harvest party will also be filmed by a professional crew for a documentary project as the interest in our work continues to spread.

What to Expect

You and your friends and family will have a chance to harvest, thresh, winnow, and mill our field of four varieties of heirloom wheat. We will harvest by hand using a sickle, which might be a first for most of us. During the harvest, there will be plenty of coffee and Honoré baked goods, all made with our heirloom wheat, to nourish us while we work.

When we finish, we will move from farm to table to enjoy a delicious lunch featuring wines from Truett Hurst along with crusty Honoré sourdough bread. You will even be able to pre-order your supply of flour made from the grain you will harvest for your upcoming baking needs!

From children to grandparents, all ages are welcome and needed for the harvest.

What to Bring:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants and a long sleeve shirt for harvesting

  • Bring a cooler shirt and shorts for lunch if you like

  • Water bottle

  • Sun screen

  • Hat

Special Thanks

Special thanks to our host, Truett Hurst Winery, for their donation of land for this project. Without them, this wouldn't be possible. Thanks also to Patagonia, Straus Family Creamery, Good Earth Market, and Equator Coffee for thier generous contributions to our harvest day!
