Description

You must attend an information session to be considered. Come learn Honolulu Habitat for Humanity (HHH) & Hawaii Housing Finance and Development (HHFDC) standard requirements, location of property, and receive a full application.


The Honolulu Habitat for Humanity (“HHH”) will accept applications from Qualified Residents* interested in purchasing a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home to be built on Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (“HHFDC”) owned (leasehold) land in Ahuimanu, on the windward side of Oahu (“Ahuimanu Offering”).

Ahuimanu Offering Basic Qualifications:

Buyer must be a Qualified Resident, *defined by HHFDC as a person who:
1. Is a citizen of the United States or resident alien;
2. Is at least eighteen years of age;
3. Is domiciled in the State;
4. Physically resides in the dwelling unit purchased;
5. In the case of the purchase of real property in fee simple or leasehold,
has a gross income sufficient to qualify for the loan to finance the purchase;
6. Is a person who either by the person’s self, spouse, or household member, or together with a spouse or household member, does not own a majority interest (more than 50%) in fee simple or leasehold lands suitable for dwelling purposes or a majority interest in lands under any trust agreement or other fiduciary arrangement in which another person holds the legal title to the land; except when husband and wife are living apart under a decree of separation from bed and board issued by the family court pursuant to section 580-71.

  • Total household income does not exceed 60% of Honolulu’s Area
    Median Income (AMI).
  • Meets HHH household size criteria for type of home being offered for sale (or to be built). Household may include unrelated members of the family who intend to live in the purchased unit.
  • Willingness to partner with HHH, as each adult is required to complete
    275 hours of Sweat Equity toward building of the home.
  • Meets HHFDC purchase and lease requirements.
