Honeywell ft. Russ Lawton, Clint Bierman, and Peter Day

Honeywell may be Vermont’s best-kept musical secret. The trio is made up of Russ Lawton on drums (Trey Anastasio Band, Soule Monde), Clint Bierman (The Grift), and Peter Day (The Grift). The three longtime bandmates and friends play with heart-on-their-sleeve passion and joy, launching from the rhythmic foundation of Lawton on drums (whose playing has been described by ?uestlove as “pocket for days”) and Day’s slinky basslines. Bierman‘s incendiary guitar work intertwines with and lifts off from this deep pocket of groove, winding audiences up into euphoric states of musical bliss. Honeywell’s live shows are a mix of originals (all 3 members are accomplished songwriters) and covers (everything from Talking Heads to Citizen Cope) with frequent extended jams. Their impeccable musicianship is a testament to these longtime VT music scene veterans at the peak of their game, and clearly having more fun than ever.
