Why did people come to Colorado? How did they make a living? Did anyone live here before the Europeans? We will give a brief overview of migration into Colorado at various time periods and focus on the homesteading movement in the late 1800s. Students will analyze historic documents, view household artifacts typical of the late 1800s homestead, dress in costumes, design their own homestead and more!
Aurora History Museum's 2-hour Homeschool program is aimed at elementary through middle grade students and their parents. Each month will have a new theme with several educational opportunities for students. Work with museum professionals and educators to expand on your homeschool curriculum.
