This class is open to anyone, regardless of where you live or work, whether or not you are a First Time Homebuyer. The class is open to people at any stage of the process---a typical class includes people who are just starting to think about homeownership as well as one or two people who are closing on their home in a matter of weeks and need a certificate to secure their mortgage. For those of you who are at the beginning stages of the process, the class gives you an opportunity to determine if you are ready to proceed with homeownership and to identify your next steps to prepare. The class is a great way to learn about current loan programs as well as grants for closing costs and down payment assistance.

Home Buyer Education

Buying a home is often the single largest investment a person will make in their lifetime. Therefore it is essential to be financially prepared.
The Housing Partnership’s Homebuyer Education Course, taught by certified homeownership counselor Chanda Gaither, will give you the information and tools necessary to make a sound decision.

We offer Credit Repair classes, the 8 hour homebuyer education class which can be used for down payment assistance, and one on one counseling.

The homebuyer services offered include homeownership counseling and a financial education curriculum designed to inform prospective homebuyers of the necessary steps to take before purchasing a home, and after your purchase. Topics covered include the merits of homeownership, financial planning and money management, understanding credit, obtaining the right mortgage, and how to shop for a home. One-on-one counseling will help participants in analyzing their personal credit and financial situations, as well as determine whether they are eligible for grants or savings programs.

We have classes to prepare you at all stages of the homeownership process; still repairing your credit, ready to buy, or post purchase. All information is presented by professionals, and in a non- biased, no sales pressure, fun and interactive classroom setting.

**Please inform us if additional accomodations are needed. Although we cannot assure fulfillment of every request, we will do our best to facilitate and be ADA compliant with our service delivery.”**
