Description

What is the Home Visiting Coordination Initiative (HVCI)?

The HVCI is a platform for information, education, and conversation. The intent is to provide cutting-edge information, build cross-program relationships, and offer additional opportunities for cross-systems operations. Ultimately, it aims to help programs increase staff retention and serve more families.

Your voice is critical in advancing the impact, reach and sustainability of home visiting programs in New York State. We need your ideas about how to reach more families and partner across programs in advocating for these important programs.

As part of the HVCI, PCANY is inviting you to: (A) Attend and participate in monthly webinars and other training opportunities; (B) Connect with providers from across the state; and (C) Lend your voice and share ideas about how to better serve families.

Why should you participate?

This Initiative:

  • Aims to provide a model-neutral space for home visitors, supervisors, and administrators to discuss opportunities and challenges at the community and state level
  • Hopes to provide learning opportunities—such as monthly webinars—for providers to learn and expand their skill sets in the most current and pressing topic areas needed to best support families’ success
  • Although you have and will continue to benefit from trainings provided by your particular program, the Initiative will offer professional development and networking opportunities that will further strengthen your work.

We firmly believe parents should also be at the table! Funding is available for meals, transportation, child care, interpretation/translation, and gift cards for families who participate. Ideally, we’d like to see at least one parent attend from each county. Although they are more than welcome at these meetings, parents could also be involved in a different manner based on their individual and family needs such as a separate Skype or Zoom session.
