About this event
Is there anything better in December than snuggling up on the couch with some hot cocoa and watching a movie with family? We think not!
We know a lot of people, especially in the queer community, don't always have a safe family home to go to. So we decided to create one! Join Awakening at Town Hall for a Home for the Holigays movie series - think big cozy sleepover, complete with hot cocoa bar (spiked or not!), themed cocktails, popcorn, and the safe chosen-family vibes that everyone deserves this time of year. Bring blankets/pillows/yoga mats to get extra snuggly. Pajamas encouraged.
The Easy Vegan will also be there! They are a queer owned and operated food pop up with veg forward street food and drinks.
The original plan was to show queer focused holiday movies, but...they are all pretty terrible, so we just picked some classics and some personal favorites. First in the series will be Tim Burton's 'Nightmare Before Christmas' on Thursday, Dec. 15th. Is it a Christmas movie? Is it a Halloween movie? We don't know! We don't care!
Please get to Town Hall at 6:30 to get all set up and grab beverages or snacks, we will stop admitting people after 7:30 so that the movie experience isn't ruined for other attendees. Most of the seating will be on the floor, but there will be some chairs and couches available as well.
