Home for the Holidays (Intermediate Cookie Decorating Class)
Overview
Take your holiday cookie skills to the next level with festive designs and advanced icing techniques!
Celebrate the season with cookies that are as impressive as they are delicious! Join us at Caboose Commons—a community hub with a kitchen, brewery, and coffee bar—for an afternoon of festive decorating.
This intermediate-level class is designed for decorators with some prior experience. If you’ve previously taken a cookie class or feel comfortable with basic outlining and flooding, this is the perfect next step to elevate your skills.
We’ll start with a quick warm-up, then dive into decorating six detailed holiday cookies: a stocking, ornament, snowy evergreen tree, candy cane, the front of a house with windows and a wreath, and a wrapped gift.
Once we move to the main event — decorating! — we'll cover skills such as:
- Working with multiple icing consistencies for professional-level detail,
- Advanced outlining and flooding techniques,
- Layering designs to create depth, dimension, and texture, and
- Wet-on-wet techniques for polished patterns and accents.
By the end, you’ll walk away with elevated decorating skills, a festive half-dozen cookies, and the confidence to tackle even more advanced designs at home.
This small-group class allows for individual, one-on-one guidance to help build your confidence and skills.
Each participant will receive:
- A printed packet with step-by-step written and photo instructions, plus cookie and icing recipes to take home,
- Multiple consistencies of royal icing in four custom colors (maroon, gray, white, and green),
- Six pre-baked cookies ready for decorating,
- Your own printed instruction packet, including cookie and icing recipes to take home
- All tools and materials provided — just bring yourself!
