Event description

Description

Do you work with vulnerable householders who are struggling to heat their homes and pay their fuel bills? Home Energy Scotland’s community liaison team will be running a free training workshop to inspire people and organisations across Strathclyde and Central to work in partnership to tackle fuel poverty.

The training will take a solution-focused approach to addressing fuel poverty. We will look at fuel poverty on both a local and national level and help you to identify households in need of support.

The training will take a solutions-focused approach to addressing fuel poverty. We will look at fuel poverty on both a local and national level and help you to identify households in need of support.

We will provide in-depth information about support available from Scottish Government to help tackle the issue, including the range of funding schemes available, such as flagship fuel poverty alleviation scheme Warmer Homes Scotland – as well as outlining some practical, no cost, low-cost ways to save energy in the home. Support from Home Energy Scotland is person-centred and places the customer’s circumstances and needs at the heart of service delivery.

You will have the opportunity, in facilitated workshops, to discuss local challenges, share examples of good practice and think about ways to help the most vulnerable households in your area. By the end of the training you should have a better understanding of how we can work together to help fuel poor households.

Our event will finish with a buffet lunch where you will have the opportunity to reflect on the morning’s discussions and network with fellow delegates and start to explore ideas for local action to help address fuel poverty in your area.
