Event description
Are you ready for disaster or evacuations? Richmond residents are invited to learn how to prepare for emergency at a free workshop.

About this Event

When it comes to disaster, minutes can mean lives.

  • Are you ready for a massive earthquake and delay of utilities and emergency services for many days?
  • If a wildfire evacuation is called, are you ready to leave your home in fewer than five minutes?
  • Do you know how to turn off your gas, your electricity, your water?
  • Do you know how to safely and effectively use a fire extinguisher and an emergency radio?

Point Richmond residents can learn these skills, and much more, at the Point Richmond CERT Emergency & Disaster Preparedness Workshop on Saturday, November 9, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Point Richmond Community Center.

Join your Point Richmond CERT team as they walk you through getting ready for disaster.

Topics will include:

Emergency Food and Water

Basic First Aid Kit

Safely Turn Off Utilities

Fire Safety Around the House

Alerts & Hand Held Radios

First 20 Richmond households through the door receive a free personal first-aid kit.
