About the workshop...

Family Capoeira is an integrative fitness program for families and individuals that combines capoeira, the African Brazilian martial art, with strength, flexibility, and endurance exercises. Capoeira was formed as an act of survival and creative resistance by enslaved Africans in Brazil. Accessible for all ages, the Family Capoeira workshop engages everyone in the music, cultural history, and physical play of capoeira. In this workshop, the whole family is invited to explore the elements of capoeira together. We will learn the foundational movements of capoeira and practice applying them in a real roda, or game, with a partner. Specially customized to be a dynamic, intergenerational experience for all,

Family Capoeira will have everyone moving our bodies and feeling great too!
