“Homage to Rafael Solano” featuring Cecilia García and Edgar Pérez
The Association of Dominican Classical Artists presents: “Tradiciones Dominicanas: Homage to Rafael Solano." This concert will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00 PM at Aaron Davis Hall, Marian Anderson Theater, New York, NY 10031. This concert is a celebration of the music of renowned Dominican composer Rafael Solano; from his famous boleros to his contemporary works, featuring famous Dominican singer Cecilia Garcia and Edgar Perez, accompanied by La Camerata Washington Heights.
The program will consist of original compositions and arrangements made by Rafael Solano throughout his career. Cecilia Garcia and Edgar Perez will interpret the songs as duo and soloists. These pieces will be performed by La Camerata Washington Heights, featuring 40 musicians, under the baton of guest conductor Carlos Andrés Mejía Zuluaga. The program also includes a world premiere piece by Rafael Solano for harp and string orchestra entitled “Three Momentus.”
The February 23rd performance is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
