Description

Day 1: November 9, 2018 Departure from USA

Today we depart JFK on our overnight flight to Ben-Gurion International Airport Tel Aviv.

Day 2: November 10, 2018

We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and board our coach and drive to our hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: November 11, 2018

We will be escorted to Jaffa (Yoppa) the oldest natural harbor where Jonah took a ship to Tharsis instead of Nineveh. We visit the house of Simon the tanner where St. Peter stayed, the house of Tabita whom Peter raised to life from death, and St. Peter’s Church on the sea shore. Driving along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea visit the aqueduct, continue to Haifa, visit the Bahai Temple, see the magnificent panoramic view from the top of the mountain at Muhraqa, the location of Elijah’s altar. Here Elijah confronted the priests of Baal. Then proceed to Tiberias, check into the hotel, dinner & overnight in Tiberias /Nazareth.


Day 4: November 12, 2018: Full Day in Tiberias

We will have a boat ride from Tiberias across the Sea of Galilee to the village of Capernaum: Visit the ruins of St. Peter’s House, visit the second century synagogue, and proceed to visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. Then we will visit the Church of St. Peter’s Primacy where Jesus appeared to the disciples after his resurrection; catching 153 fish. After a self-paid lunch with Peter’s Fish, we proceed to the Mt. of the Beatitudes. Then travel to Caesarea Philippi where St. Peter proclaimed Jesus as the Messiah. As we drive back to our hotel, we pass Magdala, home of Mary Magdalene.

Day 5: November 13, 2018: Tiberius – Megiddo – Nazareth – Cana – Bethlehem

After breakfast and checkout, proceed to the Sea of Galilee for Yardenit on the Jordan River. Here you can renew your Baptismal Covenant. Proceed to Mt. Tabor to the Church of the Transfiguration, then to Nazareth, boyhood town of Jesus. Visit the Church of the Annunciation, the Church of Mary’s Well and then onto Cana the site of Jesus’ first miracle. Here couples can renew their marriage vows.

Dinner & Overnight in Bethlehem.

Day 6: November 14, 2018: FULL DAY JERUSALEM

Drive to the Mt. of Olives for an outstanding view of the City and surrounding area. Visit the place of the Ascension and the Church of Pater Noster. We will walk down the hill to Dominus Flevit where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Proceed to the Garden of Gethsemane where we shall celebrate an open air Holy Mass. Then we will visit the Church of All Nations, the Church of the Tomb of the Virgin Mary (Church of the Dormition), Mt. Zion the room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb.

Day 7: November 15, 2018: Bethlehem - Ein Karem

After breakfast drive to Bethlehem of Judea (The House of Bread), birthplace of Jesus. Visit the Church of the Nativity, the Milk Grotto, the shrine of the Holy Innocents and the Cave of St. Jerome. Afterwards we will stand on Shepherds Field, where the Angel proclaimed the Good News “Jesus Is Born”. Visit the Tomb of the Matriarch Rachel-mother of Joseph of the Old Testament and Benjamin. After lunch, we will proceed to Ein Karem, birthplace of St. John the Baptist, and to Emmaus where Jesus appeared to his followers after his Resurrection.

Day 8 November 16, 2018: Bethany – Qumran – Dead Sea - Jericho

After breakfast proceed to Bethany visiting Lazarus Tomb. Continue to the Dead Sea (deepest point on earth), visit the Qumran Caves, and then we will have an option to float in the Dead Sea. Then we will go to Jericho the oldest city of Israel where Jesus gave sight to the blind man and converted Zacchaeus. Then we proceed to the Mt. of the Temptation where Jesus fasted for 40 days, and was tempted by Satan. Dinner & Overnight in Bethlehem.


Day 9: November 17, 2018 - Bethlehem- Taba, Egypt

After breakfast and check out we proceed to Taba in Egypt. On the way, we will visit Ein Gedi and Salt Pillar to cross over to Egypt. After Immigration clearance, we will proceed to the hotel in Taba for dinner and overnight.


Day 10: November 18, 2018: St. Catherine – Cairo

After breakfast and check out, proceed to St. Catherine. We will visit the foothills of Mount Sinai, and St. Catherine Monastery, the burning bush and Moses’ Well. We will proceed to Cairo through the underwater tunnel of the Suez Canal by road (7 hours). Dinner & Overnight in Cairo.


Day 11: November 19, 2018 - Pyramids/Sphinx- Nile Cruise

After breakfast, we will visit the Pyramids and Sphinx. We will visit the Papyrus and Perfume factory, Coptic Cairo, Holy Family Church and the oldest synagogue in Egypt. After lunch proceed to visit Pharaonic village museum. Then by late evening at 7:00 pm we will have a Nile Cruise with dinner.


Day 12: November 20, 2018 - CAIRO - USA

Today our journey ends filled with the Holy Spirit. Unforgettable memories to cherish always; knowing we have walked in the footsteps of Jesus. We proceed to Ben Gurion airport for our return flight to the US. Arrival the same day. Our pilgrimage continues in our daily life in New York.
