Overview:

Learn and develop your own app for Windows Mixed Reality & HoloLens, with a quick deep dive into other technologies that are the Fourth Industrial Revolution!

Learn how to use hand gestures, eye gaze, voice commands, spatial audio, holograms, and spatialised mapping to create an app that is interactive, immersive and engaging.

No Coding Skills Required.


Class Timing:

The Course is scheduled to run Wednesday afternoons (2-5pm) for 3 weeks, 8th Nov, 15th and 22nd November.

If you are interested in a private group booking we can be flexible on time and dates.


Goals:

Understand the current MR, VR and AR environment for corporate applications.

Install and create the windows development environment.

Build your own version of our test app with 5 core competencies.

Deploy and Test your app with the HoloLens, tethered and remotely.

Video your app and achieve a certificate of attendance.


Requirements:

Fast-track, beginner friendly course, assumes no prior knowledge other than competency with Windows.

Bring a Windows 10 Pro laptop, mouse with 30GB+ of free space, we will install everything in class.

No Prior Coding Skills Required.


Resources:

We will have a Microsoft HoloLens (or two) throughout the course, and provide the source files to complete the project. You can also demo the Oculus Rift Touch and HTC Vive, during the course.


Conclusion:

At the end of the course, you will demonstrate your version of the app that we develop together in class, and record a short video of your app developed in this course for your portfolio.


Tutor:

The workshop will be presented by Dr John Holder, Head of Technology at the Realities Centre, M.Sc. in Virtual Reality.
