Hollywood Road Hike

Enjoy local color, history and geocaching on this leisurely paced hike with great views of the Crooked River Canyon.

About this event

Hike Rating: Moderate 3 miles with about 400ft of elevation gain

Enjoy local color, history and geocaching on this leisurely paced hike with great views of the Crooked River Canyon. We will also be adding a bit of geocaching for those who would like to improve their GPS skills. Meet at the Canyon Village parking lot, in front of the Ranch Chapel at 9:00 a.m. – Look for FANs EVENT sign.

Standard hiking equipment includes sturdy boots, lunch or trail snacks, water, extra layer, and hiking poles. Sunscreen, hat and rain gear are advisable. Bring a face mask. Standard COVID precautions will be in effect.

Group size is limited to 8 people, and pets are not allowed on this hike. If you sign up and later need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible so that people on the wait list can be invited to join this hike.

Driving Directions:

From Highway 97 in Terrebonne, turn left onto Lower Bridge Road at the directional sign for Crooked River Ranch. At 2.2 miles, turn right onto NW 43rd Street. At 1.8 miles, turn left onto NW Chinook Drive. At 3.3 miles, turn right onto Club House Road and drive until you get to Ranch Chapel parking lot.

This event is sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of the Deschutes Canyon Area (FANs), a group founded in 2011 by landowners surrounding the Deschutes Canyon-Steelhead Falls Wilderness Study Area in Central Oregon who came together over their shared love of nearby public lands.  The focus area of FANs includes many special places such as Steelhead Falls, Alder Springs, the Peninsula, Otter Bench and Scout Camp.  Become a member by visiting our website at www.fansofdeschutes.org.  Memberships are just $10 per person per year.
