Description

See the web page for this event.

Join us for a special holiday-themed morning.

Crime does not take a holiday during the Christmas season, as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson discover in The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle, Arthur Conan Doyle’s short story adapted for the stage by Shakespeare Project of Chicago artistic director Peter Garino. A few clues: a top hat, a “stuffed” Christmas goose, and a very precious stone that has gone missing. Featuring some of your favorite Shakespeare Project actors.

Enjoy free hot chocolate and holiday treats, and listen to a selection of English Christmas carols from the Victorian and Edwardian periods, preceding the performance.

Don’t miss this very special holiday program!

Running time with a brief intermission will be about one hour, 15 minutes.

People with disabilities and other accessibility concerns can request to be seated first. To reserve an access-friendly space in the room, email publicprograms@newberry.org at least 48 hours before the event. Seats arranged in this way will be held until 10 minutes before the event starts.
