Holiday Gingerbread Decorating

We've released additional open seating in the 1:00 seating! (3:30 seating is SOLD OUT now.)

Join us at Canal Center Plaza in North Old Town Alexandria for an afternoon of decorating fun and holiday arts market. Stay to watch the Holiday Boat Parade of Lights on the Potomac River (starting at 4:30).

Each ticket includes one pre-made gingerbread house (suitable for 2 people), frosting, and unlimited access to an expansive candy buffet. Parking in underground garage is also included.

For everyone’s health and safety, we will space tables to allow for social distancing. Masks are optional.

What’s included in the ticket price?

All tickets include:

• gingerbread house, icing, and candy
• table and tools for decorating
• parking pass in underground garage

Reserved and VIP tables also include refreshments for your group.

Is this a class or workshop?

This is a fun, family-friendly event for you to do at your pace. We’ll provide the materials (gingerbread houses, candy, icing), inspiration, and a table. You provide the creativity and decorate your house however you’d like.

Can I see the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade from Canal Center Plaza?

Yes! This is one of the best locations for seeing the parade boats gather for the parade around 4:30 pm.

I can’t attend this year. Can I still support UpCycle?

Yes! You can support UpCycle by making a holiday donation. You can also shop at UpCycle, come to a program, or spread the word about our work.

Will you accept materials donations at this event?

Unfortunately, we can’t. However, you can easily make an appointment to donate at our center located at 5380-D Eisenhower Ave. Make an appointment here.
