About this Event

Join us in Laurel Delaware for an afternoon of music, food, fun, and artisan exhibits at the Hitchens Homestead. The event sponsored by the Laurel Historical Society is a fundraiser for the homestead restoration project. Bring your lawn chair or blanket. Dinner will be available for purchase including Vanderwendes Creamery Food Truck. Beer, wine, and soft drinks will also be available. Enjoy the classic rock sounds of Charlie and the Cool Tones, explore exhibits, and enjoy the beautiful views of historic Broad Creek. Our partners include the Nanticoke Heritage Byway, The Nanticoke Watershed Alliance, Trap Pond State Park, Bethel Historical Society, Old Christ Church League, Laurel Redevelopment Corporation, and Laurel Parks and Recreation.

“Laurel's iconic Rural Gothic Revival cottage will soon take on a new life. Slated to become a museum celebrating Laurel's agricultural heritage and heyday, the 4.33-acre property, owned and/or occupied by six generations of the Edmund Hitchens family, will be the crown jewel of Laurel's public park lands stretching one-half mile through the center of town on both sides of Broad Creek. “

Your non refundable ticket donation will help us reach our goals!
