Event description

Description

We are a team at the Emory University School of Nursing conducting research on the best tools and prevention methods for African-American, college-aged women. If you qualify, we would love for you to participate! Depending on your interest and eligibility, you could earn up to $125 for your time!

WHAT IS THIS PREP STUDY ABOUT? WHAT'S THE SIGNIFICANCE?

* “We are proposing to minimize racial, ethnic, and gender disparities by creating an HIV PrEP educational program that will inform Black female college students of PrEP as a potential HIV preventive option. We foresee this program as adaptable for other at-risk populations and as a blueprint for future PrEP public health dissemination efforts targeting unengaged high-risk groups. “

* “Our overall goal is to reduce the incidence of HIV infection among one of the most valuable, but also most vulnerable, groups in the Black community – young women at college. This project is a key first step toward this goal. Establishing the preliminary efficacy of an educational intervention designed to enhance risk perception and to promote PrEP knowledge, PrEP intentions, and PrEP efficacy among Black college females will provide the platform for broader and more rigorous testing and wider dissemination of an important HIV prevention strategy.”

RSVP & we will send you the qualifying survey and additional information!
