Event Details

Please Join us for the Second Annual Avenue 3 Fall Party on November 19, 2019. The evening will begin at 7:00pm with a talk by Casey Piket, Miami History Blogger and Podcaster, at Manolo & Rene located at 188 NE Third Avenue, who will share the details of the early days of Short Street (aka Avenue 3), and how the street has evolved over its 120+ year history.

The presentation will include old photos of the area and the attendee will learn:

  • How the street became Miami’s first upscale residential area.
  • Which Miami pioneers settled in the area shortly after the city incorporated.
  • How the street shifted from residential to commercial during the 1910s & 20s.
  • The important institutions that once called Avenue 3 home.
  • plus many more topics.

The talk will last one hour, and then the party will migrate south on Avenue 3 toward Flagler Street where the Collektives (@thecollektives), will begin performing live from 8:00 – 10:00pm.

The attendee will get to enjoy FREE beer samples (5 ounces), from Biscayne Bay Brewery and Veza Sur. The event will also feature Red Bull provided by local sponsors. The participating Avenue 3 cafes and restaurants will offer happy hour prices for food and drink. This event will draw a lot of downtowners and is sure to be a lot of fun.

RSVP is required to attend the talk at Manolo & Rene. Seating is limited, so please reserve your spot by requesting a ticket on Eventbrite. Once again, the event is FREE, but requesting a ticket is recommended.

There is only space for 70 attendees in Manolo & Rene for the talk on the history of Short Street. Admittance will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive early if you want a spot for the talk!
