Event description

Description

Pop Quiz! Who was Alice Deal? Which girls’ school became a home for code breakers? Why did the Reno School close? Join us for this year’s WinterFest Walking Tour to learn the answers. The tour will focus on educational institutions in Tenleytown and their place in local and national history.

Take a stroll across the neighborhood and learn about the schools, seminaries, colleges, and even orphanages that called Tenleytown home. Don’t worry – no homework will be assigned!

Tenleytown Main Street is proud to offer this walking tour in partnership with the Tenleytown Historical Society as part of this year's Tenley WinterFest. Farleigh Earhart, a THS board member, Deal parent, and frequent patron of the library's Washingtoniana Room, will conduct the tour.
