Event description

Description

About the training: In this more lecture-style training, we will go over DC history 101, with a focus on issues of race, education, and inequality. Please note that this is not a training on how to use the curriculum, but rather an informational session for volunteers, especially those new to DC, who wish to better understand the school system and city in which they volunteer.

Location information: Our office is located at 500 Penn St NE. The building is not clearly numbered, but our office is located through the entrance under the "Maurice Electric Supply" sign. There is a small parking lot across the street at the corner of 5th and Penn, where volunteers are welcome to use spots marked "reserved," plus plenty of street parking in the Union Market area. In addition, we are about a 10 minute walk from the NoMa-Gallaudet metro.
