Event description

Description

Step back in time as we uncover the past of the historic town of Barking along the trails of Barking Slopes Conservation Area. Explore fragments of evidence left behind from the old Barking and Oakmont mines that shaped this riverside community, and hear of the series of their unfortunate tragedies over the years. Attendees will read the land, cross-compare old maps, and learn about the impact the prohibition had on these communities while sampling locally-made McLaughlin Distillery hooch at the end of the hike. This event is 21+ only.
